PASCAL CONVERT
Pascal Convert (1957) works with highly controversial material, images from the news that were published in the press and on television. He created monumental wax sculptures based on famous pictures that were seen around the world. His work accentuates the symbolic power of images and ponders their political and aesthetic aspects as well as their impact how we shape, remember and forget history.
During the exhibition Guest House 07, four sculptures have been shown, three of which belong to the museum’s collection; it is also the end result of a long partnership between Pascal Convert and Mudam and has been the subject of a publication with contributions by Philippe Dagen, Georges Didi-Huberman, Catherine Millet and Bernard Stiegler.
